overview

Manchester Heart Centre, based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, is a tertiary referral cardiac unit and cardiothoracic surgical centre. The interventional case mix reflects that of a busy surgical centre with complex coronary cases such as calcification, complex bifurcation disease, CTO’s, graft angioplasty and PPCI.  There is an active percutaneous valve procedure programme including TAVI. There is one Interventional Fellowship post per year. The Fellow can expect to perform approximately 200 cases per year as first operator and gain experience in the application of all adjunctive PCI equipment. Research is encouraged with dedicated time scheduled for research projects.
